Intimate, personalised dance classes for anyone regardless of age, shape or dance level launches in Sydney’s Balmain. ‘Danceflowlife’ believes dance is for everyone. Dance is ageless and timeless and brings the participant freedom and a sense of wholeness. In one hour, one will make a connection to movement, music and choreography resulting in the creation of a piece of art whilst feeling like a true dancer.
Created by Carly Landa, a lady with 22 years in education and teaching saw her niche in starting Danceflowlife. She realised there where no dance classes available to those who weren’t in a certain age group or part of a style of dance culture such as Tango or Ballroom. “Dance and drama have always been a source of passion and inspiration for me”, says Carly. “I want to inspire people to let go and lose themselves in an hour of self love through dance in an unaffected environment”, she says.
About Carly Landa: Her family background is in the music business, Carly grew up enjoying music and dance. She is inspired by music and the images, landscapes and emotions it can evoke. A lover of the creative process, Carly draws choreography inspiration from music, visual dance landscapes or a phrase of dance from great choreographers such as Bob Fosse or Alvin Ailey. Sometimes it’s just a feeling, something that you can't put into words but you can dance. Singer/songwriter, FKA Twigs describes it well as she sings, ‘I dance feelings like they're spoken’.
Having taught across multiple disciplines including dance, drama, French and literacy, Carly has also taught educational psychology and fostering positive learning environments. Passionate about her family, health and wellbeing, she helps families who have children with disabilities by volunteering within the home education community.
